Aaron Kromhout, M.D.
I am so happy to welcome you to Creating Harmony Women’s Healthcare. My staff and I have worked hard to create a center for women to receive the healthcare they deserve. At Creating Harmony we take the time to listen to you because we care about you. Our role is to help a woman understand the choices she has in her healthcare so that she can choose the option that best suits her needs.
I am a board-certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist. I was born in Santa Cruz, and raised in the Bay Area. After graduating from Yale University with a degree in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry, I received my medical degree from the University of California at San Diego. From the beach I moved to the desert where I completed my residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. My proximity to Tucson allowed me the unique opportunity to train with Dr. Andrew Weill in the Integrative Medicine Program at the University of Arizona. It was in Arizona that I started a family of my own and began to develop ideas about what kind of practice I might create.
Following my residency, I worked at a community health center in South Phoenix, where I served as director of the Women’s Health Department. Seeing an opportunity for a better sense of community, my family and I moved to San Luis Obispo in September 2004. Wanting something even more special, July 1st 2006 I fulfilled my vision by creating Creating Harmony.

Lisa Winick, C.N.M.
Hi, my name is Lisa Winick. I am thrilled to be a part of Creating Harmony Women’s Healthcare. I have been interested in midwifery since 1989, when I apprenticed in a birth center in Taos, New Mexico for two years doing birth center and home births. I graduated from the Columbia University School of Nursing in New York City with a bachelors of science and masters in nursing in 1995. When I finished my degree I worked at the Ryan Community Health Center in New York City for five years as a certified nurse midwife.
Two days before 9/11/01, my fiancé, Hank, and I moved to California from New York City. We came to California because we loved the hot springs, the weather, and we had family here. At that time I took a position with another local physician. Working mostly at General Hospital we were able to offer water births. In May 2004, on Mother’s Day, I gave birth to our son, Isaiah Diego Bueno.
I live in San Luis Obispo with my fiancé, son, and father. My passions are my family, midwifery, yoga, going for walks on the beautiful Central Coast, farmer’s markets, and reading. Pregnancy, breast-feeding, and midwifery are some of my favorite topics of conversation. I urge you to call me if you have any questions. I would love to speak with you. |

Tia Franklin, Medical Assistant/Perinatal Healthcare Worker
I was born and raised in California; my family moved to the central coast when I was 11 years old. I've also lived in Oregon, Washington and Minnesota. I've been married to my husband for 16 years and we have 3 amazing children. I began studying nutrition while working at a health food store in Seattle in 1991 and have continued to extend my knowledge into other areas of health and healing. I attended Cuesta College's Medical Assisting Certification program and graduated in the year 2000. My mother was a homebirth midwife for aprox 20 years and I began attending births with her as a young girl. Growing up, I always knew I wanted to help women have the best pregnancy and birth experience possible. I attended the International School of Traditional Midwifery in Ashland, OR and am working towards my long term goal of becoming a Licensed Midwife. I was trained as a Doula through DONA and began working with women and their families in 2005. I came to Creating Harmony in 2007 and feel blessed to work with such an amazing team. I love my postion as Comprehensive Perinatal Healthcare Worker (CPHW) because it gives me an opportunity to meet with women one on one and help them to meet their individual needs through the CPSP program. |

Thelma Quiroga, Receptionist
Hello, I am Thelma Quiroga. I was born on the 7th of June, 1961, in Del Rio, Texas. Born into a family of 12 siblings, I am the youngest of the Garcia Family. I have been married for 25 years and I am blessed with two wonderful boys, who are now grown men, one of which has given me a 3 year old grandson, Cameron, who is my pride and joy. I enjoy having cookouts, scrap booking and spending time with my family. I now work for Dr. Kromhout and Creating Harmony Women’s Healthcare. Working in this family oriented environment has exceeded my hopes of one day finding “the job for me”! I take pleasure knowing that I am the first and last person patients see when they come to our office. I enjoy being able to give our patients the consideration and care I know they deserve and look for in a doctor’s office. I would like to thank the Kromhout Family for giving me the chance to work with such an amazing, caring and devoted team. Creating Harmony Women’s Healthcare has given me an opportunity to love my job! |
